NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Fort Campbell soldier was killed Sunday evening on I-24 West in Nashville.

WKRN News 2 reports that 24-year-old Charles Pusateri, originally from Bel Air, Maryland, died around 6 p.m. while returning to post.

A witness said Pusateri was travelling extremely fast when he attempted a lane change and hit the back of a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

He lost control of his 2006 Honda motorcycle and hit a guardrail. He died at the scene.

Army officials notified his family Monday.

The pickup truck received minor damage, as did a Ford SUV struck by debris from the motorcycle.

Further details were not immediately released.

This is one of three local motorcycle crashes in two days. Another motorcycle rider was killed Sunday on Highway 76, and two other people were seriously injured Monday afternoon on the same road.
