CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – There are several places to get good sushi and Japanese-style cuisine in Clarksville, but Yellowtail Robata Grill and Sushi might give the others a run for their money.
The locally-owned restaurant is located on Wilma Rudolph Blvd. next to Baskin Robbins.
My coworker and I visited the establishment for lunch and decided to order from the lunch menu, which includes a selection of combos and bento boxes. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box and my coworker opted for the grilled shrimp bento box.
We weren’t sure how long the wait might be, so we also ordered the lightly battered, deep-fried soft shell crab as an appetizer. It was tasty enough and filled the void until our food arrived.
Our meals were delivered (quickly, I might add) in traditional bento box containers that feature several compartments to hold each portion of the meal. The lunch special includes the entree, a small sushi roll, egg roll, fried dumplings, and your choice of fried or white rice. Soup and salad are also included in the price of the box ($10-$12).
We were definitely not disappointed. Each part of the box was delicious and filling. The chicken teriyaki was cooked perfectly and the grilled shrimp was great as well. By the end of the meal, we were thoroughly stuffed and unwilling to go back to work.
It’s also worth noting that the staff is friendly and attentive and the decor is beautiful. All of the indoor elements lend themselves to a peaceful atmosphere and a truly pleasant experience.
The prices on the dinner menu are slightly higher than lunch, but I have no doubt it would be worth it to go back for dinner. The blend of good food and charming decor would make it a nice spot to take a date.
Yellowtail is located at 2509 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., then again from 5-10 p.m.
