CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) A fire Saturday that totally destroyed a home in Clarksville has left a family looking for help and a place to live.
Iliana Brantley spoke with Clarksvillenow.com and said her husband (who is an Army veteran) and four children escaped the blaze along with most of their pets but four of the family’s pets were killed.
Brantley said the fire started after 6 a.m. at the home at 3845 Aly Sheba Drive which not only took the house but also damaged the family car. Brantley said she was not home at the time of the fire, she was delivering food to a friend, and her family was asleep.
The smoke had woken her daughter and Brantley said she woke up her father who woke the other two children and they all ran out of the house. Brantley said her husband ran back into the house and grabbed the crates with some of the dogs and took them to the back yard.
“The house was absolutely destroyed, from the ground up. There’s nothing in the house that’s salvageable,” Brantley said. Right now the family is staying with relatives and Brantley said they literally don’t have anything.

Brantley and her husband have four children: three boys ages 3, 5, and one 11-year-old girl. The 8-year-old has autism and her husband is a disabled Army veteran.
The report from Clarksville Fire Rescue indicated that three dogs and one cat were killed. The surviving pets are being cared for by Heavenly Paws. After being notified by Clarksville Fire Rescue the Tennessee River Chapter of the Red Cross responded with assistance for the family.
The family is in need of clothing, furniture, housewares, food, and monetary donations which are being accepted at Northeast Middle School. For more information call the Brantley Family at 914-817-8296.
