CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Detectives have charged a Christian County Deputy Jailer after an investigation into misconduct, according to a press release from KSP.
In June, detectives learned of alleged misconduct involving Deputy Brandon Hawkins and a former inmate of the Christian County Jail. The female was released to a program supervised by the Department of Corrections. The investigation revealed that Deputy Hawkins had an intimate relationship with the female while she was still under the supervision of the Department of Corrections.
On July 26th, Detectives charged 38-year-old Hawkins with two counts of Rape 3rd Degree, one count of Sodomy 3rd Degree, and one count of Official Misconduct 1st Degree. The sexual offenses are class D felonies. Official Misconduct 1st Degree is a class A misdemeanor.
Hawkins is also a Deputy and K-9 handler with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, and according to CCSO he has been suspended without pay. He was was booked into the Christian County Jail. An investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
