FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Fort Campbell officials have announced that as of September 1, hours will change at the installation’s gates.
Gate 2 will be closed indefinitely and Gates 3 and 6 will be closed on weekends, holidays and DONSAs.
The Fort Campbell Directorate of Emergency Services conducted multiple traffic studies to determine how many vehicles enter the gates per hour. The study determined Gate 2 does not meet the minimal standards to remain open, and Gates 3 and 6 do not meet the minimal standards to remain open on weekends, holidays, and DONSAs.
The current manning will be increased at the adjacent gates to ensure adequate personnel are on-hand to accommodate the influx of traffic, according to Fort Campbell.
