8th Grade Career Exploration Day gives students options

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – 5 Star Radio Group will be present at the Fourth Annual 8th Grade Career Exploration Day Friday, Nov. 22 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at APSU’s Memorial Health Building.

This year’s theme is “Your Choice, Your Future.” Students will learn about career opportunities available to them and how to choose a path toward their goals. CMCSS bases the emerging career options on specific workforce needs of Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee. The school system also integrates career opportunities within the curriculum.

The seven new Career Academies at area high schools will also be showcased to inform 8th graders about their choices.

5 Star Radio will be at the event all day with on-air talent from Q108, Z97.5, Beaver 100.3, Eagle 94.3 and ESPN to answer questions and talk about careers in radio.

“We jumped at the chance to participate in the career fair. As the largest radio group in the Tennessee/Kentucky area, we feel it’s our responsibility to help kids learn more about radio and careers in the industry,” said 5 Star Promotions Director Chris Harris. “Getting even a vague idea of what you do or do not want to be in life is important and this fair really seems to help with that.”
